About Us
Our Beliefs
The Gospel, the story of Jesus, is the greatest news in the history of the world.
That’s what we believe.
The story that God made the world, loves the world and sent his Son, Jesus Christ to save the people of the world is the best news ever.
Jesus was born as a man, so he could live among us, be one of us, and understand all the struggles and trials we face. Jesus was also the Son of God, so he came with the power to heal, perform miracles and forgive sins.
He shows us exactly what God is like, and he loves us and wants to save us from all the mistakes we make, bad thing we do, good things we don’t do, to each other, this world and the God who made it. That’s what the Bible calls sin. Jesus came to deal with sin, die for our sins, so we could have a relationship with the God of the universe.
It’s really the very best news and that’s why we gather as a church, to worship God, deepen in our trust and dependence on Jesus, and to help others hear and accept the good news of love, acceptance and hope that Jesus Christ brings.
The story of Jesus is such good news that, even if you don’t believe it, you should want it to be true. And if you don’t believe that, that’s okay, maybe you haven’t heard the whole story, or maybe we followers of Jesus haven’t done a good job of telling it to you in our words and lives. We’d love to see you at church so we can give it another shot!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his Son, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.

Our Team
I’m John Mahoney, Minister here for Break O Day Anglican Parish.
Originally from Sydney but I moved to St Helens to lead the Anglican Church because there is no better thing than for someone to know and love Jesus.
I’ve seen the difference Jesus makes in my life, and the life of many others. There is simply no better decision a person can make than to follow Jesus.
Being part of a local church is one of the best ways to get to know Jesus as part of a Christ shaped community where we can be encouraged and grow more like Him.
He really is the source of all joy, true hope and lasting purpose for this life and the next.
So, I love to see people come to understand, know and put their faith, trust and life in the hands of Jesus Christ. I love to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus and come to treasure him more and more.
I also love my wife and 3 kid. I love to read, watch and listen to all kinds of stories, including video games and watching pro-wrestling.
